Unless you're disabled, there's very little reason to not work in a communist society. It wouldn't be like the modern concept of work.
A pre-colonial Native American tribe hunting buffalo would be an example of "work" in a communist society.
The idea of turning a modern capitalist society into actual communism is extremely radical, it's basically anarchy.
Socialism is much more realistic, where you still have money and government, except it's spread around to prevent massive inequality.
