was going to watch the moonrise this evening
the full moon is tomorrow but this evenings moon is 98% and rises basically as the sun sets which i think looks very cool. while the initial brightness may be less the way it looks among the dusky horizon is peak aesthetic especially if there are some whispy high clouds for it to break through
the full tomorrow rises a little later after sundown

anyway the best vantage point was out on the road which gave a clear view to the ridgeline unfortunately the norm neighbours decided this would be a great time to get all their normcycles out and start them up
i wasnt gonna risk going out and being seen and possibly having to interact with them. the noise and revving was highly obnoxious.

i ended up walking to the rear of the property up the hill which was an ok vantage point but by then id missed the clearing of the ridgeline but not by much. i sat alone in the empty paddock watching the moon until it got dark, the wind had died down and it was mostly quiet a minor positive i guess. despite being the "warmest month" there was a chill in the air it was probably warmer this time of day back in november, summers are shit now all it does is rain those long warm evenings of summers past are a distant memory

a number of years ago they constructed a new bypass near the house, well about 5km away, i can see it from my room just through the trees but the thing is it forever transformed the ambience of the environment. while cars could always be heard from the connecting road the main highways was near the coast and the sound blocked by the hill now the highway climbs up the hill and runs along the top polluting a vast area with traffic noise
when i was a kid i remember the silence, especially in winter

truly the norms make my life suffer
