I had to reinstall Linux again after trying to install the Nvidia driver failed and ended up disabling nouveau so no I had no driver at all

Could have just booted a live USB, mounted the drive, and edited whatever file you changed to do that in the first place.

Or if it was possible, edited it in the bootloader (usually by pressing e).

Mint was popular when I started using Linux in 2012 and it's still popular today. I don't know why, it's freaking Ubuntu with an ancient hacked fork of Gnome2.

Anything but Arch-based distros is trash for desktop and if you really need a graphical installer you can use CachyOS or EndeavourOS.
