No in fact I have a gigantic user.js that ensures Firefox makes no automatic connections at all, and still have to block firefox.settings.services.mozilla.com externally.

i do because it's super convenient being able to transfer all your passwords/bookmarks/extensions during reinstalls/whatever

i never thought how it works until now, but it's actually end to end encrypted when your data gets transferred over to mozilla servers

anyway, firefox/mozilla is not who am i concerned about

last couple of days i've started using zen browser on a whim and i ended up really liking it to the point i'm considering switching to it after using firefox almost my entire life

since it's a firefox fork, firefox sync works out of the box and all my bookmarks/extensions/passwords synced just fine after i logged in

however, this got me thinking, firefox is a whole company, this zen browser was created a year ago by like single dude, i'm not even implying some kind of purposeful malfeasance on the part of the dev, just a manpower issue of keeping things secure/fixing issues/having lots of eyes on the code

what password manager do you use for sites

sigh this doesn't inspire confidence, tried posting a direct link to the github issue but forgot that you put in an autoban for posting links even in threads now..

doushio, i mean there's basically like one thing that made me really like the browser and that's the ability to just hit a key which brings up a search bar at the center of your screen from which you can either switch to existing tabs, or enter site url or just do a search engine search and it will open a new tab after you hit enter, it seems so simple you'd think there would be an extension for something like this in firefox but no

>what password manager do you use for sites

view-pass
gpg -o - pass.gpg

edit-pass
gpg -o pass pass.gpg
vim pass
gpg -o pass.gpg -c pass
shred -u pass

If I ever lose this file I'm kind of screwed, I thought about doing this thing where I do password[site] | sha256sum and use the hash, so I can remember a unique password for every site in my mind, and would only ever need access to sha256sum, but switching all my passwords would be too bothersome.

It only bans for actual links now, so you could post it without http or https.
