theres a ventilation fan in the house for moving warm air its only turned on in winter when the log burner is operating we havent used it in a couple months
anyway it was switched on at some point last night along with the hallway light outside my bedroom, the switch for it is in the living room not near other switches and is a mechanical switch

both my parents deny turning it on (as there would be no reason) and i was the last to leave the living room after getting a snack i have no memory of operating the switch and im sure the hallway light would have been off as i always turn it off before bed and no one else would have needed to come to this end of the house

as far as i recall i did not get up in the night as i generally do not
it is a slightly concerning mystery for sure
