SoftBank owns ARM.

Apple's making desktop PCs with ARM chips now, and an x86 translation layer that's surprisingly fast called Rosetta 2.

The ARM chip is faster in a Mac Mini in single core benchmarks than every Intel Mac ever made including 2019 Mac Pros, even through the x86 translation layer.

The chip also uses much less power and doesn't even require a fan.

I was criticizing Apple for their choice to switch to ARM but these ARM macs just released and I'm shocked by the benchmarks and x86 translation layer.
