40yo male. Been in a loveless marriage for 10 years. She is a Christian and I am not. That's my secret. She thinks I am, but I really don't care about religion. She dislikes sex more than once a month and she absolutely hates porn or masturbation. Just vanilla sex once every few weeks. I'm bored and lonely and she won't divorce me. I don't want to die not knowing what it was like to have a regular person for a girlfriend/wife. Someone interested in the things I like and with a regular libido. I've told her nothing of my kinks or fetishes and I live inside MMORPGs and forums pretending to be someone I'm not just to feel like I have a different life. That's my other secret. Please don't mind the throwaway. I want to run this by you all before I bring it up with my Rabbi.

I am a male Jew who has been dating a Muslim woman for 9 years. I am not the most observant Jew but it truly is an important part of who I am. Our parents are extremely accepting of us and have given us their blessing for marriage. We are getting married in a few months and have agreed to having a combined Muslim and Jewish wedding. My Rabbi has been extremely supportive of this.

We have recently found an Imam that has said he does interfaith marriages. We spoke to him last week and he brought up a requirement that I must sign a document declaring that I am a Muslim prior to the wedding. The Imam then said that I can "tear up the paper" immediately after and that it was for his own records.
In my eyes I will always be a Jew and have absolutely no want to convert to Islam. Will I still be a Jew? What standing does the declaration have?
