I have a Pur, but I don't know if that's the best.

I know for a fact that it filters out metals and chlorine though. Because I've ran water through it when it was rusty, and it came out clear.

Sometimes my water tastes like a swimming pool from the chlorine added, and the filter removes the chlorine taste.

It apparently filters out most pharmaceutical drugs in the water supply too.

I'd highly recommend a filter, I don't have any suggestions on which though.

You can test water filters by boiling the filtered water down to nothing. After all the water has evaporated, you'll be left with the remaining minerals/contaminants. Do the same with unfiltered water, or other filters, and compare.
