>>13569When I tried playing this 7 years ago that's what I thought so I quit early in the game.
Now I'm playing it and think it's great. Feels really well designed and polished, I like the art style, combat system has advanced a lot, very smooth progression, and rewarding puzzles but never too difficult that you just quit because you can't figure out what to do for too long (my 1000 IQ helps, the game is basically just an IQ test).

>>13579I bet you never touched a Tales game, even A Link Between Worlds puzzles are harder. It's not a bad game, I enjoyed it back then but it tries too hard to be dark and edgy sometimes, like some sort of Majora's Mask 2.0

It's just 8bit H.264 and AAC in an mp4 container. I don't know if it's ffmpeg, x264, or Firefox's fault.

>>13689Found out why, ffmpeg defaults to (the higher quality) yuv444p pixel format but Firefox doesn't support that.
-pix_fmt yuv420p
makes it compatible.

>>13579> rewarding puzzles but never too difficult that you just quit because you can't figure out what to do for too longYeah I really like that about BotW. The puzzles are hard enough that some of them aren't obvious, but easy enough that high-IQ people like /what/ posters can figure them out in a few minutes. Compare them to Skyrim ``puzzles'': put the snake, whale, and raven stones in the correct order HINT: THE ORDER IS "WHALE, SNAKE, RAVEN".

skyward sword pisses me off
there's a good game in there between all the awful 1-3 minute flight segments to get anywhere. The flight on that stupid chicken honestly ruined what would've otherwise been a fantastic game.
it's the kind of game where I imagine a remake or fan patch with shortcut and quick travel would help horrendously.

Just finished Skyward Sword.
What's good about it:
- Combat system
- Motion controls
- Difficulty
- The dungeons themselves
- Boss battles
- The story/ending
The bad (very minor spoilers):
There was 3 areas, forest, volcano, and desert. They reused these same 3 areas a lot. All areas are connected by a sky hub world, very similar to Windwaker's ocean. The entire game was basically you going between these 3 areas, and the starting town (the only town), in a very linear fashion.
There's basically no side quests, collectibles, or extra stuff worth doing.
It has a lot of backtracking, not even to do anything new, just to waste time by going back to an area you've already been to.
You basically fight the same boss 3 times, twice. There is 2 bosses which you fight 3 times.
I enjoyed the game, I think it's worth playing, but I'd still say it's the worst 3D Zelda game.
