From my experience, there's only two search engines, Google and Yandex.
All alternative search engines are basically just Google's results, Duckduckgo, Startpage, SearX, Bing, etc. might as well be Google proxies. Yandex only shows 25 pages of results but it's completely different.
This really started in 2019 when Google completely broke Youtube and implemented a dystopian algorithm because people were watching little girl gymnastic videos and conspiracy theory videos.
The future is now, big tech are using highly advanced AI right NOW to moderate and censor content. If you post a video to Youtube and the AI detects a child in it the video will be demonetized and comments will be disabled. The same is used for detecting nudity, "hate speech", "conspiracy theories", and "misinformation", but usually those are just outright deleted or censored.
