My password is many, many, characters long and randomly generated.

You are not brute forcing your way into /what/'s login page you will just waste your own time and be moderately annoying.

That's not me, whatmin.

I use a password I can remember for my Linux login and email.

Everything else I use randomly generated long passwords that I store in firefox, or keep them in a small text file encrypted with GPG (with a password I remember) that I wrote a small shell script to easily decrypt/edit/encrypt.

I back up my firefox prefix and the encrypted text file.

To lose my passwords, I'd have to lose access to my email accounts and the password manager/text file at the same exact time.

What should I use on Windows. What do you use to generate passwords

 No.26151

>>26150
A Linux command that calls /dev/urandom, strips out any weird characters, and cuts out a certain number of characters.

You should use Firefox or Chromium's built in password managers, back them up, and keep an encrypted text file with anything that isn't a website.

Windows has some Linux compatibility like WSL2 you can do this kind of shit on Windows including use GPG and shell scripts.

this is too complicated, just use your password managers random password generator and add a few letters on the end

Yes, it is essentially a giant software project that has the same functionality as an encrypted text file.

i trust the memory management and garbage collection of a password manager a bit more than i do notepad or gedit or whatever, but i'm not tech wiz enough to actually know whether or not this should even be a concern and i'm just retarded anyway so it doesn't even matter.
