The expensive paper towel brands are actually the cheaper ones, but people still buy the shit paper towels, refusing to believe that using one sheet of higher quality paper towels is cheaper than using 5 sheets of shit paper towels to get the equivalent effect. It's like this for a lot of stuff in life…

The worst paper towels are those industrial rolls of tough brown paper that absorb almost no liquid at all, but rather just slosh it around. You might as well just go fuck yourself at that point.

Thank you for sharing. I agree. There is no point in buying paper towels at all though. Just buy lots of white dishtowels and throw them in the wash with some bleach every now and then. Use the right towel for the right job. You can save a lot of money in the long run if you cut out all paper products besides toilet paper

I think a mix of paper towels and washcloths is best, for some situations one is better. Cleaning washcloths does cost money too, from what I understand about 40-60 cents per load, including washing/drying and detergent/bleach. If I was only using washcloths I would need to wash loads of them often. Sometimes there's stuff I don't even want on permanent washcloths too, like dog shit.

Ah, that's true. Dog poop, vomit, blood… I can think of a lot of things that a rag would just not be appropriate for.

Also, I have shop rags for using oils, and old T-shirts that I use for cleaning and dusting and stuff.
