You're signing up to stock shelves for a large corporation's retail store, they expect you to have years of work experience, references, be really enthusiastic about getting paid $9 an hour for a crap job, and generally be a fake unrealistic super normie.
There's so many people and not that many jobs though, so they can get away with it. There's people who are struggling even to just get a crappy job like that. The employers abuse this and know they can stand to make insane requirements even for jobs like cleaning shit in a bathroom or flipping burgers.
